To the harden hearts that hopefully will have a soft spot.

It amazes me that there are so many people who can’t find it in their heart to do good-by the less unfortunate. Yet those whose heart is harden and can’t find a soft spot to give a little and always want to assume that someone is trying to get over by excepting something from the government such as welfare or any hand out of any kind. It is terribly to know that the harden hearts can’t even begin to imagine having a soft spot because their heart is so hard to begin with.  I for one at one point was so down on welfare but I have realized that there are some folks who really need it and I for one can not assume that everyone doesn’t need it, who am I to make that judgement? I thank God that he has removed that feeling from my heart. I feel that a person doesn’t want to wake up in the morning without a job, without a cause and without wanting to make good money by going to work and receiving a paycheck.  I have learned that I must give someone the benefit of the doubt in a case of need.  And I have also learned to not judge too quickly of those who I may have thought did not need. This is one of the reasons I respect and admire our President for his caring for the needy and wanting to ensure every American has healthcare and so much more. Why can’t we all just find a soft spot in our hearts for those in need and start giving a little or give what we can instead of always thinking about one’s self especially if you are one of those selves who are doing ok and making it  just fine. Will it hurt to give something? It doesn’t always have to be giving money, you can give a can of goods, or a piece of clothing or a dinner or some time. It’s about giving what you can to those so unfortunate than we are. Ok we say how do we know that it’s not a scam? I will tell you that if I see someone standing out in the cold with a sign in their hand saying please help or something to that nature, I for one will want to help as much as I can at the time even if it is only one dollar or five dollars. This person is asking, they have the guts to stand out and ask, so why not help if you can. Ask yourself, is it going to break you if you give a dollar or five dollars? Who knows, you may have just really helped a person in need and if they are a scam, personally I feel God will deal with them in a way that I can not. My faith in doing good is very strong and I am thankful that God has given me a soft spot in my heart to want to help the less unfortunate and always give them the benefit to the doubt. I also owe this to my mother who has a generous heart.  I agree with Bill Maher,  It’s ok when the wealthy takes a  big tax cut, and then some turn around and give the poor grief for taking welfare or food stamps. What the heck? Bottom Line up front help the poor because one day it may be you, you don’t know what God has in store for you, so it is in our best interest to lend a helping hand regardless.  It’s not always about the poor in need it is also about the one that needs a helping hand.  If  you see someone in distress it is our  moral duty to help if and when we can, I will say be cautious when doing so that you do not cause harm upon yourself or anyone else. My dream and my goal is to help everyone who comes in my path who needs it. I will make this my personal pledge to do so from this day forward. I challenge those of you who come across my blog to do the same. This is always the season to be thankful, to give, and to be forgiven.
